BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Barcelona‘s new coach, Xavi, was able to celebrate his first home win in the Spanish league on Sunday after his team defeated Athletic Bilbao 4-0.

Barcelona‘s victory came thanks to the impressive performances of Flick and Gundogan, who scored two goals each to seal the win.

Flick‘s Double

Flick opened the scoring in the 14th minute when he received a pass from Pedri and fired a shot into the bottom corner of the net. He doubled Barcelona‘s lead in the 38th minute with a penalty kick after Yeray Alvarez had fouled Ansu Fati.

Gundogan‘s Double

After the break, Gundogan scored his first goal in the 47th minute when he headed in a cross from Jordi Alba. He added his second goal in the 75th minute, finishing off a counterattack with a shot from the edge of the area.

Barcelona‘s Win

The win was Barcelona‘s second in a row under Xavi, who took over as coach last month. It moved the team up to seventh place in the standings, 16 points behind leader Real Madrid.

Bilbao‘s Struggle

Bilbao, meanwhile, remained in ninth place, 18 points behind the leader. The Basque club has not won in four rounds and has only one victory in its last seven matches.
