Mount Eerie, the solo project of Phil Elverum, has announced a new album titled ‘Night Palace‘, set to be released on April 30th. The album will be the follow-up to 2017’s critically acclaimed ‘A Crow Looked at Me‘, which dealt with the loss of Elverum’s wife, Geneviève Castrée.
New Album Details
‘Night Palace‘ is described as a “meditation on darkness, presence, and place” and features 11 new songs. The album was recorded entirely by Elverum in his home studio in Anacortes, Washington. The album’s cover art, designed by Elverum, features a painting of his home studio at night.
New Songs
Along with the album announcement, Mount Eerie has shared two new songs from ‘Night Palace‘: ‘Tintin in Tibet‘ and ‘Distortion‘. ‘Tintin in Tibet‘ is a haunting, introspective track featuring Elverum’s signature lo-fi production and poignant lyrics. ‘Distortion‘ is a more upbeat track, with a driving rhythm and distorted guitars.

Mount Eerie has also announced a series of upcoming shows in support of ‘Night Palace‘. The tour will kick off on April 25th in Los Angeles and make stops in New York City, Chicago, and Seattle before concluding on May 10th in Portland.
