Manchester United explore ways to sign Manuel Ugarte

Manchester United are exploring ways to sign Real Zaragoza‘s Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte, sources have told ESPN.

Ugarte, 20, has been on United’s radar for some time and the club have been monitoring his progress closely.

He has been one of the standout players in Spain‘s Segunda Division this season, helping Zaragoza to third in the table.

United are keen to bolster their midfield options and are looking at a number of targets ahead of the summer transfer window.

Ugarte, who has been capped at Under-20 level by Uruguay, is one of the top-rated young midfielders in Spain and has attracted interest from a number of clubs across Europe.

He has a contract at Zaragoza until 2023 but the Spanish club are bracing themselves for offers this summer.

United are also looking at other options including Declan Rice, James Maddison and Jack Grealish.

They are also keen on signing a striker with Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Jadon Sancho among their top targets.
