Scream franchise star Neve Campbell has confirmed that the upcoming Scream 7 will focus on the story of her iconic character, Sidney Prescott. In a recent interview with Bloody Disgusting, Campbell revealed that the new film will explore Sidney’s personal journey and the trauma she has endured throughout the series.

Campbell stated, ‘I think it’s time to really get into Sidney’s head and figure out what makes her tick.’ She added, ‘We’re not just going to be doing the same old thing. We’re going to be digging deep and exploring her psyche.’

The news comes after it was announced that Scream 7 would be a direct sequel to Scream (2022), ignoring the events of the fifth film, Scream 4. The new installment is set to be released in March 2023.

Campbell has been instrumental in bringing Sidney Prescott to life for over three decades and has become synonymous with the character. Her return to the franchise is a significant development that will likely spark excitement among fans of the series.
