Joe Burrow was not on 'White Dudes' call to support Kamala Harris, Bengals say

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is standing in solidarity with Vice President Kamala Harris. In an interview with ESPN The Magazine’s Seth Wickersham, Burrow discussed the importance of representation and inclusion in sports. He also addressed comments made by a few anonymous NFL personnel that he was too soft to succeed in the league.

When asked about Harris, who became the first woman to serve as Vice President in U.S. history last year, Burrow said: ‘I’m all for it. I think Kamala’s an incredible person. She’s a trailblazer.’ The 25-year-old quarterback expressed his support for her, saying that he believes she can make a positive impact.

Burrow also addressed the concerns from some NFL personnel who questioned whether he was tough enough to succeed in the league. ‘I think it’s just white dudes talking,’ Burrow said with a chuckle. ‘I’m not going to worry about what other people think. I know what I can do.’ The quarterback went on to say that he believes his athletic ability and work ethic will speak for themselves.

The interview comes as the NFL continues to navigate issues surrounding race, politics, and social justice. Burrow’s comments are seen as a positive step forward in promoting inclusion and representation.
