Manchester United agree fee for Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui

Manchester United have agreed a fee with Bayern Munich to sign Moroccan right-back Noussair Mazraoui, according to reports. The 24-year-old has been a key player for the German champions in recent seasons and is understood to be keen on a move to Old Trafford. Manchester United have been searching for a new right-back all summer, following the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Leicester City. They had been linked with several other players, including Paris Saint-Germain’s Achraf Hakimi, but it appears they have now secured their target in Mazraoui. The deal is expected to be completed in the coming days, pending a medical examination and the signing of paperwork. Bayern Munich are willing to let Mazraoui leave after he failed to establish himself as a regular starter at the club. Despite making 34 appearances for the German champions last season, Mazraoui struggled to displace fellow right-back Benjamin Pavard and was an unused substitute in several key matches. Manchester United see Mazraoui as a long-term replacement for Wan-Bissaka and believe his pace and attacking prowess will be valuable assets at Old Trafford.
