Keanu Reeves is animated on the BRZRKR panel at San Diego Comic-Con

Keanu Reeves brought his new comic book series, BRZRKR, to the San Diego Comic-Con International panel, where he discussed the project’s themes and creative process. The 58-year-old actor, known for his iconic roles in films like The Matrix and John Wick, partnered with writer BOOM! Studios’ co-founder Matt Taylor to create the new series, which follows a immortal warrior who has been alive since ancient times.

During the panel, Reeves spoke about the inspiration behind BRZRKR, saying it was born out of his own fascination with mythology and the supernatural. He explained that he’s always been drawn to stories that explore the human condition, but this time wanted to create something more personal.

The actor also delved into the themes explored in the series, including mortality, legacy, and the consequences of immortality. ‘It’s a story about what it means to be alive,’ Reeves said. ‘What does it mean to have a purpose? What does it mean to leave a mark on the world?’ He added that the series is not just about fighting monsters, but also about exploring the emotional toll of living forever.

As for how he approached creating the character, Reeves revealed that he drew inspiration from his own experiences as an actor and the many roles he’s played over the years. ‘I’ve had to play so many different characters,’ he said. ‘But this is a chance to create something that’s truly me.’ He also credited his co-creator Taylor with helping shape the character and bringing the story to life.

The San Diego Comic-Con International panel was a hot ticket event, with fans lining up early to secure a spot for the BRZRKR panel. The series has generated significant buzz since its announcement earlier this year, and fans are eagerly anticipating the release of the first issue.
