Report: Arsenal 2-1 Manchester United

Mikel Arteta’s side came from behind to claim a 3-2 victory over Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on July 28, 2024. The Gunners trailed early on as Marcus Rashford opened the scoring in the 12th minute. However, Arsenal responded swiftly as Emile Smith Rowe leveled the game just three minutes later. The visitors regained the lead midway through the first half through a Lisandro Martínez header, but again the hosts refused to give up. This time it was Bukayo Saka who pulled his side level once more with a well-taken goal on the stroke of halftime. The second period saw both sides create opportunities, but ultimately Arsenal’s persistence paid off as Granit Xhaka scored the winner in the 65th minute. Manchester United pushed hard for an equalizer, but the Arsenal defense held firm to secure the three points. This victory marked the Gunners’ third consecutive win against their Premier League rivals and further solidified their position at the top of the table.
