According to sources, Reynolds couldn’t resist cracking jokes about Jackman’s recent split from his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness. The actor reportedly brought up the subject multiple times on set, even going so far as to create a fake script for a scene where Deadpool (Reynolds) and Wolverine (Jackman) have a heart-to-heart conversation about their respective divorces.

A source told Us Weekly that Reynolds’ antics had everyone on set in stitches. ‘Ryan loves to make fun of Hugh’s divorce,’ the insider revealed. ‘He’s always been a bit of a jokester, but this time he really went all out.’ The source added that Jackman took the jokes in stride, laughing along with his co-star and even playfully retaliating at times.

This isn’t the first time Reynolds has poked fun at Jackman. In 2019, Reynolds joked about Jackman’s Wolverine character being ‘boring’ during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. It seems that good-natured rivalry is still going strong!

Reynolds and Jackman have been friends for years, having worked together on the X-Men franchise. Despite their joking around, it’s clear they have a deep respect for each other as actors and colleagues.
