Five transfers Chelsea must complete after signing Filip Jorgensen

In a move that has left many in the football world surprised, Chelsea have signed Danish defender Filip Jorgensen from Bundesliga side FC Copenhagen. The 22-year-old full-back joins the Blues on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £10-15 million.

Jorgensen’s impressive form for FC Copenhagen and Denmark has caught the eye of Thomas Tuchel, who sees the young defender as a long-term solution at right-back. With Reece James currently sidelined with an injury, the signing provides much-needed depth in the position.

The Danish international has already gained valuable experience playing in the Champions League and Europa League, and his ability to play both left and right full-back makes him an attractive addition to Chelsea’s squad.

Tuchel is known for his keen eye on young talent, having previously worked with players like Kai Havertz and Florian Neuhaus. The German tactician sees Jorgensen as a key component of his team’s future plans.

In a statement released by the club, Tuchel said: ‘I’m delighted to welcome Filip to Chelsea. He’s a talented young player who has already shown great potential in his early career. I believe he can bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm to our squad, and I’m looking forward to working with him.

Jorgensen will join up with his new teammates when the squad returns from their summer break. He becomes Chelsea’s second signing of the transfer window, following the arrival of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.
