Olympics soccer games today: Spain vs. Japan tops slate

Thursday marks the start of the knockout stage in Olympic soccer. Here’s what you need to know about today’s games and schedule.

The men’s tournament begins with a showdown between Japan and New Zealand at 8:00 am ET. The match will be broadcast on NBC Sports App and Peacock.

In the women’s tournament, Sweden takes on Great Britain at 9:30 am ET. That game will also air on NBC Sports App and Peacock.

Later in the day, the United States men’s team faces off against Haiti at 10:00 pm ET. That match will be broadcast on FS1.

Here is the full schedule for Thursday:
