Kevin Feige Explains Why Marvel Spoiled Dafne Keen’s X-23 Return in Final ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Trailer

Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, has opened up about why the studio is putting so much emphasis on original content for Disney+. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Feige explained that the goal is to create a ‘Disney+ universe’ that rivals the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). To achieve this, Feige revealed that Marvel is planning to produce at least 10 original shows for Disney+, with some of these shows being part of the MCU and others being standalone. ‘We’re not just doing one-off shows,’ Feige said. ‘We’re creating a universe.’ According to Feige, the key to success lies in building a cohesive brand identity across all the Disney+ content. He emphasized that this is why Marvel is focusing on storytelling and characters that are deeply rooted in their respective universes. ‘The goal is to make it feel like you’re stepping into something bigger than just one show,’ Feige said. The first wave of original Marvel shows will debut later this year, with the highly-anticipated ‘Hawkeye’ series set to premiere on November 24th.
