McKennie Agrees New Juventus Contract Until 2026

Weston McKennie has agreed a new contract with Juventus until 2026, the club confirmed on Friday. The 23-year-old American midfielder joined the Bianconeri from Schalke in July 2020 and has since made 92 appearances in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists. His new deal is reportedly worth €3.5m per year, plus bonuses, and he will be tied to the club until June 30, 2026. McKennie has been an important player for Max Allegri‘s side this season, featuring in 33 of their 34 Serie A matches. He has also scored five goals in 10 Champions League appearances. The news comes as a boost for Juventus, who are currently fourth in Serie A and face Inter in the Coppa Italia final next Wednesday. McKennie’s decision to extend his stay in Turin is also a positive for the US national team, who will be able to count on one of their key players being in top condition for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
