Here's What Kamala Harris' Campaign Has Planned for Week 2

Vice President Kamala Harris is set to embark on a two-day campaign swing through Georgia and Texas, as the Biden administration looks to bolster Democratic efforts ahead of the midterm elections. The trip, which begins Friday, will see Harris stump for Democratic candidates and attend fundraising events in both states, according to her office. In Georgia, Harris will headline a rally for Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), who is seeking re-election against Republican challenger Herschel Walker. She will also campaign with Rep. Sanford Bishop (D-Ga.) as he seeks to retain his seat against Republican contender Mike McGarity. Harris’s visit to Texas comes ahead of the special election to fill the 34th Congressional District, which has been left vacant since the death of Rep. Ron Wright in February. The vice president will campaign with Democrat Jasmine Cruz, who is vying for the Democratic nomination in the race. Harris’s trip marks the latest effort by the Biden administration to boost Democratic fortunes ahead of the midterms. President Joe Biden himself has campaigned extensively across the country, while other top officials like White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki have also hit the campaign trail.
