Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom Reportedly Going To Appear In The MCU Before Avengers 5: Here's When & How

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Fantastic Four reboot, with many fans wondering if Robert Downey Jr. might make an appearance as Doctor Doom. However, according to recent reports, it seems that RDJ may not be involved in the project after all.

The rumors began when it was announced that Matt Shakman would be directing the film and Kevin Feige’s Marvel Studios would be producing. Given Feige’s history of working with Downey Jr. on multiple projects, including the Avengers franchise, many fans speculated that Doctor Doom might make an appearance in the Fantastic Four reboot.

However, in a recent interview with Collider, Shakman seemed to pour cold water on those rumors, stating that while he loves RDJ’s work and would love to have him involved, there are no plans for Downey Jr. to appear in the film.

It’s worth noting that nothing has been officially confirmed by Marvel Studios or Downey Jr.’s representatives at this point, so it’s possible that we might still see some kind of involvement from RDJ down the line. However, based on Shakman’s comments, it seems that the Fantastic Four reboot is likely to be a standalone film with its own unique cast and storyline.

Regardless of whether or not Downey Jr. ends up appearing in the Fantastic Four reboot, fans are still eagerly anticipating the release of the film and what it might bring to the MCU. With the success of previous superhero reboots like Spider-Man: Homecoming and the X-Men franchise, there’s a lot riding on this project, but we’re excited to see how it turns out.

In related news, Marvel has also announced plans for an Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania film, with Paul Rudd set to reprise his role as Scott Lang. No release date has been confirmed yet, but fans can expect more updates on the project in the coming months.
