Jesus: I'm in different shape

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has been discussing the Gunners’ current season, and he believes that Mikel Arteta’s men are in a different shape compared to previous years. Parlour, who won three Premier League titles during his time at Highbury, thinks that Arsenal have developed into a more solid unit this campaign. Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast, ‘The Real Podcast with Ray Parlour’, he said: ‘I think they’re in a different shape now. They’ve got a better squad, they’ve got a better manager, and they’ve got a better team ethic.’ The former midfielder went on to praise Arteta’s ability to get the best out of his players, stating that the Spaniard has instilled a sense of pride and unity within the squad. Parlour added: ‘Arteta’s done a fantastic job. He’s got them playing for each other, he’s got them playing with confidence, and he’s got them playing with a sense of freedom.’ With Arsenal currently sitting top of the Premier League table, it seems that Parlour’s assessment of the team may not be too far off the mark.
