Ryan Reynolds Landed Deadpool & Wolverine's Biggest Marvel Star With One Text Message

In a new interview with SiriusXM, Ryan Reynolds revealed that he had an epic text conversation with Chris Evans about bringing together Deadpool and Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to Reynolds, Evans was initially hesitant to join forces with Wade Wilson’s merc-with-a-mouth, but eventually came around after some convincing from Reynolds himself.

Reynolds shared a series of texts between him and Evans, which started with Reynolds’ invitation for Evans to join forces with Deadpool in the MCU. Evans responded by saying he was ‘not sure if I can get on board with that,’ citing concerns about tone and continuity.

Undeterred, Reynolds continued to lobby for Evans’ involvement, even suggesting that they could make a joint appearance at Comic-Con together. Evans eventually warmed up to the idea, jokingly agreeing to join forces as long as he got ‘top billing’ in any potential project.

Reynolds praised Evans for being ‘a great sport about it,’ saying that their conversation was ‘exactly what you’d want from two guys who are just trying to make each other laugh.’ He added that the exchange left him feeling ‘hopeful’ that we might see a Deadpool-Wolverine team-up in the future.

Unfortunately, no such project has been officially announced (yet!), but fans of both characters will surely be excited by the prospect of seeing Reynolds and Evans team up on screen. In the meantime, you can relive their hilarious text exchange below:

As it stands, neither Deadpool nor Wolverine has been officially integrated into the MCU, although there have been rumors about potential cameos or spin-offs in the works.

Regardless of what the future holds, it’s clear that Reynolds and Evans are on the same page when it comes to making each other laugh – and that’s something we can all get behind.!
