The Premier League’s six most successful teams in Europe have dominated the Champions League and Europa League in recent years, with Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United accounting for 14 of the last 16 major honours. The dominance is a reflection of the increasing financial power of these clubs, as well as their ability to attract top talent from around the world. Since the start of the 2010s, the ‘Big Six’ have won every major European honour, with Manchester City’s Champions League victory in 2022 being the most recent example. The dominance is not limited to the Premier League, as the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid have also been successful in European competitions over the years.
