Pep Guardiola says he is ‘very happy’ to have extended his contract with Manchester City until 2025.

The Catalan coach, who was already under contract until 2023, has agreed a two-year extension in a deal that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium for seven more years.

Guardiola, who joined City in 2016, has won three Premier League titles and four FA Cups during his time at the club. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest managers in football history.

In a statement on Manchester City’s official website, Guardiola said: ‘I am very happy to have the opportunity to continue my work with this fantastic team.’

Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain added: ‘Pep is an exceptional coach who has achieved incredible success during his time at Manchester City. We are delighted that he will remain part of our team for many years to come.’
