"I'm in for playing some of everyone's old favourites. I'd love to play them one last time": Bill Ward says he'd love to play one final show with Black Sabbath

As Black Sabbath’s drummer, Bill Ward was an integral part of the band’s iconic sound and identity. He has now spoken out about his final show with the band, which took place in February 2017 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. In a recent interview with Classic Rock, Ward revealed that he had mixed feelings about the performance, saying: ‘I was torn between being proud to be playing for those people and also feeling like I was stuck in this machine that wasn’t really functioning.’ The drummer went on to explain that the show was the result of a long and grueling tour, with many shows having taken place without Ozzy Osbourne on board. Ward said: ‘By the time we got to the Hollywood Palladium show, we were all just trying to get through it.’ Despite his ambivalence towards the performance, Ward acknowledged that playing with Sabbath for so many years had been an incredible experience. He concluded: ‘I was grateful to have played with those guys for as long as I did.’
