Arsenal's stance on Osimhen after Mourinho warns of £84m transfer mistake

Arsenal are considering a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, according to reports. The Gunners are on the lookout for a new frontman and have identified the Nigerian international as a potential target. However, they may face stiff competition from Tottenham Hotspur, who are also keen on securing his signature. According to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, Jose Mourinho has been tracking Osimhen’s progress at Napoli and is prepared to make a move for him in the summer transfer window. The 22-year-old has impressed since joining Napoli from Lille last year, scoring 11 goals in all competitions. He has also attracted interest from other European clubs, including Roma and Inter Milan. Despite this, Arsenal remain hopeful of securing Osimhen’s services and are willing to meet his £60million valuation. The Gunners have been linked with a number of strikers this month, including Lille’s Jonathan David and Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak. However, it seems they are prioritizing Osimhen as their top target. If they can secure his signature, it could be a major coup for the club and help them challenge for the Premier League title next season.
