See Timothée Chalamet in ‘A Complete Unknown’ teaser

A new teaser trailer has dropped for the upcoming biopic about Bob Dylan’s life, starring Timothee Chalamet. The 24-second clip shows a young Chalamet with a mop of curly hair and a guitar slung over his shoulder, but don’t expect him to be channeling the iconic musician’s gravelly voice or mannerisms just yet.

According to Variety, the film is being directed by James Mangold, who previously worked on Logan and Ford v Ferrari. The screenplay was written by Mangold along with Leopold Hornecker, and it’s said to focus on Dylan’s early years growing up in Minnesota and his rise to fame.

The clip doesn’t give away much about the film’s tone or style, but it does show Chalamet sitting down at a piano and strumming some chords. The camera then cuts to a shot of Dylan’s lyrics being scribbled on paper, as if he’s writing one of his famous songs.

Fans of Dylan will likely be excited to see the film get underway, especially given the early buzz around Chalamet’s performance. However, it’s worth noting that the actor has said in interviews that he doesn’t plan to do a full-scale impersonation of Dylan, instead focusing on capturing his essence and spirit.

The Bob Dylan biopic is set for release sometime next year, although no official date has been announced yet. With Chalamet at the helm and Mangold behind the camera, fans are sure to be eagerly awaiting more updates and teasers from the film.
