Lionsgate has announced that Judy Greer (Archer, Jurassic World) and Mark Hamill (Star Wars, The Flash) have joined the cast of their upcoming film, The Long Walk. The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King, which was first published in 1979. The story follows a group of teenagers who are forced to participate in a deadly game where they must walk for miles while being hunted by authorities. If one of them stops or tries to escape, they will be executed on the spot. The film is set to be directed by Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House, Doctor Sleep), and it’s expected to start production soon. Judy Greer will play a role that is currently undisclosed, while Mark Hamill has been cast as an unnamed character who seems to have a connection to one of the main characters. The Long Walk marks another collaboration between Lionsgate and Stephen King, following previous films like It and Carrie.
