Argentina complain to FIFA over Morocco chaos after seeing last-minute equaliser ruled out by VAR following delay of over an hour

Argentina has lodged an official complaint with FIFA over the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) decision that denied them a penalty in their Olympic semifinal defeat to Morocco on Tuesday.

The South American nation fell 3-2 to the Atlas Lions, who secured a place in the gold medal match for the first time. The decisive moment came in the 83rd minute when Argentina’s Facundo Torres was fouled by Moroccan defender Achraf Dari.

However, VAR official Jarred Gillett failed to award a penalty kick despite overwhelming evidence that Torres had been taken down inside the box. The decision sparked widespread outrage among Argentine fans and players.
