Liverpool handed triple pre-season boost after Andy Robertson injury blow

Liverpool right-back Andy Robertson has given a positive update on his fitness status, insisting he is feeling ‘fine’ despite missing the Reds’ last two games due to injury. The Scotland international suffered a minor knock during the 3-1 win over West Ham United on February 10, which kept him out of the subsequent matches against Everton and Norwich City. However, Robertson has revealed he is already back in full training with his teammates at Melwood, as he bids to shake off the lingering effects of the injury. The 28-year-old told Liverpool’s official website: ‘I’m feeling fine, I’ve been doing plenty of work on the pitch and in the gym. I’ve had a few days’ rest here and there, but nothing major.’ Robertson’s return to full training is a significant boost for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who are set to face a crunch period in their Premier League campaign. The Reds have five top-flight matches remaining, including encounters with Manchester City, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur. With Liverpool fighting for a top-four finish and potential Champions League glory, Robertson’s availability is crucial in bolstering the team’s defensive solidity. When asked if he was feeling 100% fit, Robertson added: ‘I’m getting there! I’ve had a few niggles here and there, but nothing that’s going to keep me out for too long.’ The Liverpool star has made 23 Premier League appearances this season, scoring two goals and providing six assists. He will be desperate to regain his place in the starting lineup ahead of the Reds’ remaining league fixtures.
