Snoop Dogg aims to inspire global audience at Paris Olympics as torch bearer before opening ceremony

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Snoop Dogg is taking his talents to the Olympics. The legendary rapper has been named a torch bearer for the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Games, organizers announced Tuesday.

As part of the Olympic Torch Relay, Snoop will carry the flame alongside other dignitaries and athletes. He joins an impressive list of previous torch bearers that includes celebrities like Yao Ming, Wang Leehom, and Lang Lang.

Snoop Dogg is no stranger to high-profile events. He has performed at numerous awards shows, including the Grammy Awards and the Oscars. He also appeared in a memorable halftime show during Super Bowl XXVII.
